Village of Norridge Consolidates 911 Dispatch to MCD
Norridge, IL – Effective immediately, all 911 calls handled by the Norridge Police Department will now be answered by Municipal Consolidated Dispatch (MCD). The Harwood Heights Police Department will be the new location of MCD and will serve Norridge, Schiller Park and Harwood Heights for all emergency related police and fire calls.

The consolidation will put Norridge in compliance with a state law Governor Bruce Rauner signed in 2015 that mandates small communities across Illinois to consolidate 911 dispatch centers to help standardize 911 systems. In Cook County, consolidation is mandated for all communities serving fewer than 25,000 people.

While Village residents will see no change to the service they get when calling 911, having access to a larger consolidated center with more staff allows greater efficiency and eliminates redundancy among the communities.

From this point forward, lobby hours at the Norridge Police Station, 4020 N. Olcott Avenue will be 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM Monday through Friday. If assistance is needed during non-operating hours, a wall phone located inside the entrance of the Police Station will be available and directly linked to a telecommunicator at MCD.

The Norridge Police Department non-emergency number will remain 708-453-4770 and can be accessed 24/7. To make inquiries more efficient, an automated service will now receive calls to better help direct and answer non-emergency related questions.
Questions, comments or further inquiries about the Village’s consolidation can be directed to Police Chief David Disselhorst at 708-453-4770.
