Norridge Police Department – Police Officer Test
The Norridge Police Department currently has an active eligibility list that will expire May 1, 2008.  Around late 2007, we will announce in the newspapers that a new test will take place.  That process will start in January or February of 2008.  You can write to our office and request to be notified or to ask any other questions you might have.

Norridge Police Department – Auxiliary positions
We also have part-time Auxiliary Officers. Come in to the Police Department and pick up an application, fill it out completely and return it to the Department. We hire Auxiliaries as needed, and keep the applications on file. The information for this position is as follows:
 
Brief Job Description
  • Civilian Position
  • Probation for 1 Year
  • Un-armed while on probation
  • The position does not have conservator of peace or powers of arrest.
  • Main duties are parking enforcement and directing traffic

The hours vary. Most are 5-hour shifts; some are 8-hour shifts.
Requirements are:

  • Must pass a full background check including a medical with full drug screen and hearing test, psychological profile and polygraph.
  • Be at least 21 years of age
  • Be High school graduate (or equivalent)
  • Have no criminal history
  • No residency requirement
  • Possess good people skills
  • Be a quick learner who is able to follow instructions
